Materials & Applications is a non profit organization that commissions extraordinary art and architecture installations.
In fifteen years, M&A has grown from a small social experiment in the front yard of an artist’s home to an expansive organization with a robust calendar of installations which are always free and open to the public. M&A is the only organization in the city that commissions and constructs installations by architects and artists at an architectural scale. We present this work outside a traditional gallery setting — unscripted and unsupervised.
We work to make space - both physical space and cultural - for projects to come into being outside an academic or a client-based setting. Throughout all this, we aspire to be an architecture space that cultivates a spirit of care, intentionality, and institutional responsibility.
We are a community supported institution, run by an inspired and dedicated team, and supported by people like you. You make our programming possible.
Help us make the next 15 years possible.
Materials & Applications is a 501(c)3 organization (Federal Tax ID: 26-2567190). Contributions to M&A are tax deductible to the fullest extent permissible by law.
