Interning with Materials & Applications
During specific exhibition and programming seasons, Materials & Applications will seek interns to assist with our projects and programs. Interns are exposed to the full spectrum of operations at Materials & Applications. In our experience, an internship is only successful if it is tailored to each person's interests and learning objectives, so we offer specific positions in exhibitions + public programs, development, and communications. You must be a responsible and creative a interested in art and architectural engagement and are curious about the triumphs and challenges of working with a small, non-traditional, non-profit organization.
Our candidates with the right skills, attitudes and interests, including:
- interest in cultural production in arts and architecture
- able to work independently and in group settings with strong design, research, writing and organizational sensibilities
- are eager for new experiences and challenges, regardless of background or skill set
We welcome all applicants but prefer candidates who are pursuing a degree in art, architecture, design, environmental studies and other creative disciplines. All applicants must commit to at least 2 days per week for a minimum of 3 months. We try to offer a small stipend for internships on a project-by-project basis.
If you are interested in interning with M&A, please email a cover letter and CV to info [at] materialsandapplications.org. Unfortunately, due to the volume of submissions, we are not able to respond to every inquiry.
